| recently read some stuff on nuclear energie. and just saw some adds on TV about choosing between nuclear and green energie , the add gave a website ( www.nuclearforum.be) i thought it was a forum and with the intention to troll it (soz) i went to it but i havent found a forum yet ( ) so lets make this forum a bit more active . so what do you guys think about nuclear energie:?: good or bad and why | |

| Well, it's the most efficient kind of waste, and doesn't release any greenhoust gasses. Yeah, there's the problem of nuclear waste, but what the hell, just fill up some useless desert like New Mexico (all those blasted government test zones) with the nuclear waste and when there's no more room start looking for a new source of power. | |

| personally i think the idea of a nuclear engine is mad its bad enough we got nuclear waste to deal with as it is without this rubbish being spurted out at us the way forward would probably be hydrogen fuels, since upon contact with the air it only forms H2o which is one of the most environmentally friendly by-products there is besides oxygen itself hydrogen is also limitless giving another oppertunity but its adapting it to use thats the problem, its taken years for them to come up with hydrogen-powered cars | |

| Well, here you've got some of mine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXD6GtinvbcAnd also, bad, good? Well, I don't really know that much. I've got to opinions: 1: No Nuclear. 2: Let's make Fall Out 3 really happen *nods* (Yes, it's old but so is the Light bulb) | |

| nuclear nergie has a huge share in the energie production in the country i live in (belgium) its 55% there.
nuclear energie works good , its only the nuclear waste :/

| Its bad, why? waste, and that waste is bad because it will stay waste and radioactive for more then 10.000 years, that will have a huge impact no matter where you store it.
Its a good energy source to transit from fossil to green but it should only be a temporary way to obtain enough power. If you want infinite energy you will have to look up at the sun and at the seas for the water, to the moon for the tides and feel the wind on your skin outside, thats all kinetic and thermodynamic energy that can be used to power any project you need.

| i believe they are curently researching a way on reusing some of the nuclear waste.
if they manage to reuse some of the waste and make the time its radioactive shorter it might be the new energy source for the world.
i personnaly dont see solar and wind energy going to suply more then 75% and thats basicly the only alternative

| Solar power / wind power / tidal power just aren't efficient enough. And let's be honest, wind turbines are a bit of an eyesore. Basically if the government doesn't completely support it there's generally a reason. | |

It's not an eyesore when they are placed on off-coast polders/platforms. And all those three are efficient enough. Build a shitload of solar panels in the Sahara, wind turbines in the north sea. Did you know Iceland is almost completely powered by geo-thermal energy?

| it would suck when the power turned off when it is night also i dont see the problem with wind turbines , whats so ugly about them? | |

| Madrid is powered on solar energy, they use huge reflectors to point the sunlight at columns that contain salt, the salt starts to boil and creates a tremendous heat, that heat is converted to energy, hugely efficient.
Its just republican propaganda that has made us believe that we need wastefull energy sources, its just not true. If you use tidal power you can build things under the sea or in lakes, windmills should be more artistic, perhaps let lose some artists on them in more populated areas so they are nicer to look at.
And another thing, the US could power their entire country if they start a certain 50 year plan (obama is concidering it) developed by nasa and nobel winning scientists, they would only need to build huge amounts of panels in the nevada desert combined with windmills outside villages and off the coast and tidal energy where possible to meet their entire energy need, day and night. The only thing needed is a efficient industry producing the panels and a industry creating hydrogen for cars and other vehicels.
Thing is, this planet and the solar system around us contains enough energy to supply us with 90 times our entire world energy need, and we wouldnt even have to spoil any of our climate to obtain it just convert our way of thinking.
Heck we can not even obtain energy from wave power, just drop some of these huge snakelike objects in the sea and they generate huge amounts of electricity
So next time you think about this don't think: no we cant, but think: yes we can.
